Please join Blue Ridge Spirit CUUPS for a celebration of Litha, or Summer Solstice. filled with reverence, mirth and revelry. The Goddess, Sun God and Faerie Folk will preside over the fun festivities, which mark the peak of summer. As we celebrate and wave good-bye to the Sun God who has reached the pinnacle of his power and begins his retreat into the dark half of the Wheel of the Year, there will be singing, dancing, poetry and a symbolic battle of death and transition of power between the Oak King and Holly King brothers who each reign for a half of the solar cycle.
If weather permits, we will process from UU Asheville to the park one block north, but if not, the celebration will be held in the sanctuary. Please bring a dish to share for the potluck afterward.
