About the Authors:
沙力浪 Salizan Takisvilainan:
Also known as 趙聰義 (Zhao Tsung Yi), Salizan is a Bunun writer and poet from the Nakahila community in Hualien. His writing focuses on the stories, emotions, and histories of Taiwan’s indigenous communities. His latest book 《從雲端走下來的家族》 (Descended from the Clouds: A Family’s Journey) uses literary journalism to trace his family’s migration across the Central Mountain Range, preserving both oral histories and tribal memory.
His work has received multiple national literary awards and was recently translated into Czech for a literary tour in Central and Eastern Europe. (Reading in Mandarin)
Jimmy Brainless:
Austrian-Taiwanese musician and writer, Jimmy’s novel „Im Schein der Pfütze“ (In the Reflection of the Puddle) is a multi-generational family story that moves between Taiwan and Austria. With vivid imagery and emotional depth, it reflects on identity, memory, and the everyday moments that tie us to our past. His writing has appeared in several literary magazines and earned him 2nd place at the 2023 Wortreich Short Story Competition. (Reading in German)

🎤 Event Format:
Each author will present the background of their book, read selected passages in their original language (Mandarin or German), and join a Q&A session with the audience.
💬 Conversations throughout the evening will be in English, German, and Mandarin – no worries about the language barrier. Everyone is welcome!
👥 Come to listen, connect, and talk to the authors and fellow literature lovers in a relaxed, multilingual setting.
