Join us in Kansas City for the 2024 Summer Institute for 4th grade through 12th grade educators!
The National WWI Museum and Memorial is excited to offer a Summer 2024 professional learning opportunity to assist teachers in integrating literature that brings to life the multifaceted narratives of the Great War in their classrooms. July 14-18, spend a week in Kansas City preparing to teach this pivotal historical period by receiving and developing engaging resources that illuminate the era's extraordinary stories.
This program is designed to enhance teaching and understanding of the Great War by using fiction and interactive methods to explore its history and impact, offering educational resources, lectures, and collaborative opportunities for content creation. All readings will be provided, at no cost, to institute attendees.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
Participant applications are due on Friday, April 5, 2024 no later than 11:59 p.m. Central Time.
All applicants will be notified of their status (whether accepted, wait listed or not accepted) on Friday, April 12, 2024.
Successful applicants must accept or decline their offer by Friday, April 19, 2024.

PARTICIPATION DETAILS
Each participant will receive a travel stipend. Stipends are determined according to distance of travel and are taxable as income. The stipend will be paid at the completion of the program.
Project applicants who accept an offer to participate are expected to remain during the entire period of the program and to participate in its work on a full-time basis. Participants are also required to prepare for discussions and group presentations, complete a curricular project and submit an evaluation.
