Join us for Literary Libations as we discuss Smoke Kings by Nate Evers. The novel follows Nate, a Black political activist, who, after his cousin is murdered, rejects traditional responses to racial violence. Instead, he leads a group of friends on a mission to kidnap the descendants of those responsible for past hate crimes, forcing them to pay reparations. What begins as a quest for justice soon spirals into a dangerous journey of revenge.
A fast-paced, provocative novel, Smoke Kings explores the blurred line between justice and vengeance in a society still grappling with racial tensions.
