Literary Libations Book Club DEC Meeting - Special Year in Review & Wrapped Book Swap

🎉 Our final Literary Libations meeting of the year and we’re closing out 2025 with a festive roundtable gathering—part reflection, part celebration, and all about enjoying time together.
These December meetups are always extra fun, and this year we’re changing things up to make it even more special.
~What to Expect~
📚 Year in Review
No new book to read. Let’s talk books, we’ll reflect back on our club’s 2025 nominees—what we loved, what didn’t land, what surprised us, and anything else. We’ll also talk about our favorite non‑book‑club reads, so *take a look at what you’ve read this year* and come ready to write down some great new additions to your TBR.
*We’ll also have a festive & fun ‘Holiday Round’ of questions.
🎁 Unwrap a Question & a Treat
Our discussion & holiday questions will be passed around in a basket. Each question will be tucked inside a gift box and paired with a little holiday surprise—like candy, tea, incense, bookmarks, bookish stickers, etc. Every draw will not only spark the conversation but also unwrap a bit of holiday fun.
And in the spirit of sharing, treat it like a mini white elephant: if you’d rather swap your treat with someone else, feel free!
🎲 Silent Bingo (Kickoff Game)
We’ll start the evening with a round of Silent Bingo! This isn’t traditional bingo—no rows, instead, you’ll check off all the squares that apply to you from your year’s worth of reading. We’ll give it about 10 minutes, then tally scores, and whoever has the highest total gets first choice from a basket of holiday treats.
✍️Famous Authors & Their Imagined Season’s Greetings
Throughout the month of December we’ll be playing a game in our FB group. Every day we’ll have an imagined Season’s Greeting penned by a famous author. To play, comment with your guess on the author. We will tally up the answers at the end. During our event we will reveal the correct answers and announce the person who had the most correct answers and they will get to choose from the basket of holiday treats.
🎁 Wrapped Book Swap
If you’d like to participate, bring a book (or two) you’ve read and want to pass along—or maybe one that’s been sitting in your TBR pile a little too long. Wrap it to your liking and jot a few clues on the outside: genre, year released, themes, or a short teaser. We’ll line them up when we arrive, and at the end of the night, we will browse the mystery picks and take home something new.
