About this Event
Renewed consensus around the science and practice of literacy development presents opportunities for OST programs to help young readers build skills and engagement. Participants will reaffirm the unique role of OST in literacy and explore strategies to integrate high engagement literacy activities into programs. The session will also highlight considerations for working with Dual Language Learners, as well as engaging parents and families.
Learning Objectives:
-Learn about research findings and frameworks for how children learn to become strong, strategic readers
-Review best practices for literacy in OST and share strategies for high engagement activities that respond to multiple learning styles
