About this Event
In our first two Listen.Lead.Serve.Share events, Columbus Stand Up partnered with community members and organizations to facilitate conversations ranging from introductions to the concept to how to impact our future climate reality.
In the first conversation, we defined sustainability and how it has different definitions and applications in different communities. OSU Graduate student Joelle Jenkins led the first conversation, focusing on her research in sustainability. As a result of the discussion, we engaged several audience members who expressed interest in joining us in planning the following event!
The second LLSS event focused on taking action. Along with offering participants the opportunity to plant a tree in honor of a loved one, we were joined by City Council President Shannon Hardin to discuss the future of sustainable transit in Central Ohio. Audience members were given more information about issue 47, an issue that would eventually pass, and given the chance to ask questions about what future changes could look like.
For the third and final LLSS event, we will focus on workforce development! With Issue 47 passed, Columbus will see a surge of revenue and job opportunities. We will be joined by Impact Community Action with information about emerging employment opportunities in an expanding job market.
Catering will be provided by Roots Natural Kitchen
The first 30 attendees will receive a complimentary $25 Visa gift certificate
