Listening Session with The Arc Maryland and SDAN

The Arc Maryland and the Self-Directed Advocacy Network of Maryland (SDAN) share this opportunity for a virtual listening session to provide people with IDD and their families with a forum to share their experiences over the past year and hopes for the future. We will use this information to help guide us and prioritize our education and advocacy efforts throughout the coming year.

The topics for discussion include the following:

• Person-Centered Planning: The role of the team in the process of developing a plan of supports with a person at the center - Plan submissions and approval process.
• Eligibility and Medicaid for services, and for services within the Waiver (CDS 1:1, Personal Supports Enhanced, 2:1, Overnight), TY, Autism Waiver
• Nursing Support Services, Private Duty Nursing
• Funding and Payment Issues, System needs/issues, Non-payment or late payments, COLA (Jan & July '24), State-only funding.
• Equity Issues - Appeals/Rights

Not everyone will have the opportunity to share their stories live, but your stories and experiences are vitally important. We want those in government, and in positions to make change to be aware of what is happening around the state.

Note: Personal sharing time is limited to two minutes per person and people will be selected to speak that represent views on a variety of topics. Selected speakers will be representative of different areas, service models, and other demographics in our state. Those pre-selected to speak during this listening session will be notified by email with rules and instructions for connecting early to the call.

Registration is required to attend! Registered attendees will receive a zoom link to attend. Please register even if you do not wish to speak, your attendance demonstrates the importance of these issues.
