In 1973, after completing my freshman year of college, my parents said they lacked the funds for me to return for my sophomore year. Determined to raise the money, I was hired as a busgirl at Marco’s fine dining in Leisure World in Silver Spring, Maryland. “The School girl, the Scandal, and the Scoundrel or Everything I learned in life, I learned as a waitress” is a funny and poignant story about my determination to earn enough money to return to school and follow my dreams.
