LISA FRANKENSTEIN is a 2024 American comedy horror film directed by Zelda Williams, in her feature-length directorial debut, and written by Diablo Cody. The film stars Kathryn Newton, Cole Sprouse, Liza Soberano, Henry Eikenberry, Joe Chrest, and Carla Gugino. The plot follows a misunderstood teenage girl, Lisa, who meets and develops a relationship with a reanimated Victorian-era corpse. Cody stated that Lisa Frankenstein is set in the same fictional universe as .

The Gardena Cinema opened as the Park Theatre in 1946, and has been owned by the Kim family since 1976. Owned by Judy Kim, it is the last family-owned single-screen theater in Los Angeles. In its history, it has shown first and second-run English language films, second-run Spanish language films, and has hosted film festivals and live musical performances (including The Dickies for The Killer Klowns From OuterSpace event).

FanMail Cinema Club is a group of film enthusiasts who organize film screenings in the Los Angeles area founded by Rocky Avalos. We are a group of friends with a background in short film productions, art, and pop culture blogging. We all love dressing up for events and screenings, even when costumes are not expected. We’re excited to make Lisa Frankenstein our first screening event!

LISA FRANKENSTEIN starts on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 2:30 pm, 5:30 pm & 8:30 pm. Doors open at 1:30 pm for meet and greet with the FanMail Cinema Club and Cosplay contest for a chance to win a 2-night stay for up to 4 persons at Wyndham's Desert Blue Resort in Las Vegas.
WHAT TIME CAN I ARRIVE?
Attendees will be allowed to enter the auditorium up to 30 minutes prior to show time.
WHERE DO I PARK?
Free parking is available in the parking lot adjacent to the Gardena Cinema on the north side.
WHERE IS GARDENA CINEMA?
Gardena Cinema is located at 14948 Crenshaw Blvd, Gardena, CA 90249.
HOW DO I REDEEM MY TICKET?
Upon purchase, ticket will be emailed to you as a PDF attachment from Eventbrite. When you arrive to the event, please show the entrance attendant the bar code on your ticket at the entrance to the cinema, either by holding up your printed version, or by displaying it on your phone or smart device. Attendant will scan it to check you in, and you'll be good to go into the auditorium!
CAN I BRING FOOD / SNACKS?
NO! This is an indoor screening. Please do not bring outside food or drinks inside the cinema. Tasty refreshments and fresh popped popcorn will be sold at the cinema snack bar.
WILL YOU HAVE RESTROOMS?
YES! Gardena Cinema's lobby, snack bar, and restrooms will be open.
MAY I BRING MY PET WITH ME?
Sorry, PETS ARE NOT ALLOWED INSIDE THE ACTUAL CINEMA BUILDING, (where restrooms and snack bar are located).
