Liquid Lyrics, Sunshine Coast's most wordy, worldly and worthy spoken word event has reached that point again where our top poets from the heat's throughout the year come together to share their poetic prowess and compete for prize money, paid features, a trophy and the bragging rights of being crowned the '2024 Slam Champion'.We have a full dance card for this final and the finalist poets that have come through this year are world-class.
To allow for full creative expression and choice of topic, there will be no theme for the final.
Poetry Slam Rules:
• 2 minutes 30 seconds/ timer starts on the first word
• 1 point deducted for every 30 seconds over over three minutes.
• 1 extra point awarded for memorization
• Any poet going over 5 minutes will be disqualified from the competition
• Original work written within the last 12 months, also never performed at a Liquid Lyrics Poetry Slam
• 5 Judges chosen randomly in the crowd
• The highest score & lowest score removed, with an average of the middle three scores to be added together.
• NO Music or Props

Second Place receives:

✩ This recipient will be chosen via audience applause, from the poets who placed '3rd' '4th' & '5th'

Phoebe Rose is a rising Sunshine Coast singer/songwriter who’s evocative songwriting draws inspiration from the poetic moodiness of Tyler Childers & Stevie Nicks. There is a raw vulnerability and maturity to her performance style and she is renowned for her unforgettable stage presence and her effortless ability to captivate an audience. With her fusion of folk and country, she has opened for award winning Emily Wurramara and is a feature artist on Christian Patey’s single ‘love drunk’.
