About this Event
Tag a long to a festive-themed Lino printing workshop on Sunday the 15th of December at the Long Eaton Art Room led by artist & designer Marcus Gilmore. Marcus is a graphic designer, illustrator and print maker who is able to capture striking and colourful designs in his art.
The workshop is designed to get you excited about the wonderful medium of lino printing in a small group setting of up to 6 or 8 people. It'll be the perfect opportunity to create Christmas inspired cards and designs for your friends and family!
The workshop will begin with sketching your chosen designs, before using carbon paper to transfer it onto the lino to carve. You will have the opportunity to print using a variety of lovely types of papers to create unique and captivating results. All equipment including lino plates, carving tools and ink will be all provided by Marcus. Participants of all abilities are welcome and no previous experience is required.
Your finished carved linoplate will be loaded into a printing press where Marcus will demonstrate how to effectively mix colours and print on a variety of hand-made papers.
The workshop will be taking place in the Long Eaton Art Room's large workshop room. Where you'll have plenty of space, great lighting and plenty of tea, biscuits and snacks to keep you going!
Lunchtime will be set at 12:30 am you are welcome to bring your own lunch or snacks as well with you. I look forward to seeing you then.
