This is a 2-day class meeting on 5/29 & 6/5.
For many, linocuts are their first introduction to block printmaking. Its materials and tools are readily available and affordable in most craft stores. Students can use sharpened blades, called gouges, to carve a design into a block of linoleum. This block can then be inked and printed similarly to a rubber stamp. Don’t be deceived by its accessibility, though! Artists of all levels use this technique for the distinct, bold graphics it creates. In This class, we’ll learn some best practices for using those tools and materials and how to transfer an existing image to a block.
$90. All supplies included. TMA members receive 10% off all registrations.
