Linocut printing (2 week course)

A 2 day course to learn this relief printing process and create a Linocut print.
About this Event

Relief printing is one of the oldest ways of making a print. With linocut printing, you will make a small block by cutting away the areas you do not want the ink to pick up. This is a very spatial way of working, leaving the surface of the lino to take the ink using rollers. This way your ink cannot be deposited into all your cut out areas. You will be able to use the Columbian Press that stamps down a heavy bed onto your paper, thus transposing the inky block to your printing paper.

We would ask class participants to bring along any sketches, drawings or materials they may find inspirational for their images. During the class we’ll be working to an A5 ( 21 x 14.8 cm ) size.

The workshop will take place on Saturday 1st June & Saturday 8th June, 10:00 - 17:00

All materials provided.

We are delighted to launch our programme of printmaking courses for the coming spring and summer. The programme covers an exciting and varied range of processes and ability levels to suit complete beginners right through to more experienced printmakers.

We are passionate about making printmaking as accessible as possible and reducing barriers to participation as far as we can, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to develop their creativity.

Please get in touch directly if you wish to be added to a reserve list which we will consider if spaces are available close to the start time of each course.
