During this session, you will have step by step guidance from our tutor, into the full process of Lino printing with easy cut lino. Creating your artwork, carving your lino block, mixing colours and using the printing press to create your cards and decorations.This is a perfect opportunity to learn this print technique and create your own unique Christmas card designs plus some hanging decorations or tags.
Who is my tutor?
Sophie McIntosh is the founder of Hey Ho Print Co. She has been printmaking for over 25 years and running the print studio for 9 years. She has taught at Kingston University and Leeds College of Art and Design.
What experience do I need?
This workshop is suitable for absolute beginners as well as those with more experience. People with an established artistic practice will find they get a lot of new ideas from the unexpected designs they produce.
What will I make?
You will produce a set of greeting cards with your own unique designs printed onto them. All our cards are eco-friendly, using recycled card stock and envelopes are included. If you have time, you will be able to use the same design to create some hanging card decorations, which we will laser cut to a desired shape and add thread for you. These will be perfect to hang on your tree or give to someone as a personal gift.
Your tutor can show you lots of examples of screen prints during the session to help you understand the different possibilities.
