About this Event
The heart-wrenching sights of Centre and its facilities are too tragic to ignore. The roof leaks when it rains, there are a very limited amount of resources for teaching and there is no designated play area for the children. For this reason, Dumza Maswana has taken the initiative to mobilise volunteers from the community to develop the infrastructure of this centre for the week leading up to his Homecoming concert, which is free and open to the community.
The Day Care centre was originally built with very limited resources by the community. The intention was to provide a secure environment for the children to learn and play. Ms Ziseka Mazondo and Mrs Thotyelwa Fikayo serve as nurturers at the centre, through their early childhood development programme for children aged 2 - 5 years. They are provide mental, physical, cognitive and social development to the children. The Centre plays a pivotal role in the community, because most of the children who attend come from economically disadvantaged families combating poverty, and unhealthy living conditions.
