Event Description: Ann-Marie Priest is an author and academic whose biography of Queensland-born poet Gwen Harwood won the 2023 National Biography Award and the 2024 Margarey Medal for Biography 2024 .

About the Author: Ann-Marie Priest is an award-winning author and academic who lives in Rockhampton in Central Queensland. In addition to her biography of renowned Australian poet Gwen Harwood, My Tongue Is My Own, she has written two books about writers’ lives, A Free Flame and Great Writers, Great Loves. Her essays on books and writing have been widely published.
