We'll kick off the new block with a lindy hop social dance at De Klinker on Sunday August 31st! We'll be dancing to LIVE MUSIC this time. We loved the swingin' tunes of De Jong INC at the tea dance in Arnhem so much that we invited them over to Nijmegen! We're very excited!!Schedule:
15.00-16.00h: lindy hop taster for complete beginners, so bring your friends!
16.00-18.45h: social dance with live music by De Jong INC!

De Klinker (Van Broeckhuysenstraat 46, Nijmegen). We're very happy to be dancing here again!
Entrance for the lindy hop workshop and social dance is free, but we ask for a donation so that we can continue to organise these events with live music!
The band:
De Jong INC is not your typical family company! This swinging troupe is fueled by the chemistry of father and son. The joint effort of vibraphone player Hein de Jong and pianist Jetse de Jong and their hip-shakin’ rhythm section propels every dance floor they play back to Harlem in the 1930s. This band swings!
Hein de Jong’s 40 year+ musical career has taken him across the globe. His tasteful playing with an emphasis on swing and melody has made him in-demand internationally for various constellations featuring the likes of Scott Hamilton, Heinz Kretschmar, Peanuts Hucko, Csaba Deseo, Butch Miles.
Some think that pianist Jetse de Jong fell into a big pot of New Orleans’ Gumbo as a child. They say that after a few days he climbed out and hasn’t stopped playing the piano ever since. In reality he found his calling after hearing the music of rock ‘n roll legend Fats Domino.
A practical note:
Please only dance on clean shoes, suitable for a dancefloor, and do not put any powder or coating under your shoes. If you do, it might cost us a lot of money or result in us no longer being able to use the venue.
