WaterMarks is an informal science learning initiative that engages neighborhoods with their freshwater systems. We pair local artists with scientific experts, to organize walks within the communities we work. These walks encourage residents and stakeholders to think about the social and ecological challenges their communities face, and how these challenges can beovercomeaddressedat the intersection of art and science. The WaterMarker will serve as a beacon, a WiFi hotspot, and will pulse when there is an active Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage Disctrict Water Drop Alert, which alerts residents to use less water when major storms and heavy rain threaten the area.
