I. How to Prepare at Home

Discover the importance of preparation and how to master songs by ear. We'll guide you through effective methods for internalizing melodies, ensuring you're confident and ready to find harmonies.

II. Finding Harmonies with Solfege

Unlock the power of solfege to enhance your harmony singing. Learn to identify the starting note of the melody and the harmony, practice the solfege scale during the song, and flow from your starting note to discover the rest of the harmony. We'll also show you how to repeat the process for additional harmonies, making complex harmonies accessible and achievable.

III. Suggestions for Leaders

Leaders play a crucial role in fostering a positive environment for vocalists. We'll provide tips on setting your singers up for success and creating a culture of openness and safety for constructive criticism. Learn how to support your team in achieving harmonious excellence.

David Dillon bio

Born in Los Angeles to professional musicians, Jonathan Byram was raised in and around the studios and stages of Hollywood where he also worked as a singer from a young age. He went to Wheaton College, IL to study music and deepen his faith through education, and, after receiving a degree in composition, moved back to Los Angeles to teach, perform, and compose.

You have heard Jonathan on movies and tv shows such as High School Musical, Thelma the Unicorn Happy Honda Days commercial, The Black List, The Oscars with Adele, Jurassic World, Hairspray, and more! In addition, Jonathan performs professionally with vocal jazz, barbershop, musical theater, classical choral, and contemporary choral groups.

During his career, Jonathan has served as choir director for middle school, high school, and adult choirs. For eight years, he directed the Reality LA Church choir running regular voice clinics for the singers in that community.For more information visit jonathanbyram.com.
