About this Event
President Abraham Lincoln spent three summers in residence at a hilltop Cottage in Washington, DC. This place provided him the space and time he needed to develop the Emancipation Proclamation and to grapple with the challenges of his presidency, both personal and political. Today, President Lincoln’s Cottage serves as a Home for Brave Ideas, inspiring visitors to reflect on their values and how they can take action in the world around them.
In partnership with Four Score Consulting, President Lincoln’s Cottage offers a study of Lincoln’s journey towards national emancipation, providing today’s leaders insight into the timeless leadership strategies Lincoln used that are still applicable in the 21st century.
Participants should plan to bring a lunch. Lunch is welcome in the spacious Visitor Education Center or, weather-permitting, at our shaded picnic tables.
