Held annually since 2010, the Global Day of Jewish Learning is inspired by the vision of Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz z”l. This year’s study theme is “One People” – the connections that bind Jews together in common memory and destiny.⭐️ There will be two different learning sessions offered back-to-back. You are encouraged to attend one session, or both!
➡️ 2PM-3PM: Connectedness
Our lives often take unexpected turns—some anticipated, others not. Our Jewish tradition acknowledges that these transitional moments, whether it’s losing a loved one, starting a family, finding a partner, or going through a divorce, are times that need recognition and reflection. Although these experiences can feel isolating, they also hold the potential to bring us closer together. We will turn to Torah and explore how life changes and challenging moments can be deeply isolating, yet also offer opportunities for connection if we have the courage to seek it.
➡️ 3PM-3:PM: Light Snacks and Refreshments
➡️ 3PM-4:15PM: Mindfulness
We will reflect on mindfulness practice and examine mindfulness through a Jewish lens based upon the teachings of the Kitzur Shulchan Arukh. With that learning in hand, we will reflect and discuss how we can integrate elements of mindfulness into our daily practice, in order to ground us in connection with Jews around the globe.
