Archdale is a contemporary multimedia artist living in Whitefish, MT. Born & raised in Wolf Point, MT, her expressive work pays homage to her Native roots. Her distinctive personal style uses improvised lines and colors that reference both abstract art and design elements of her traditional culture. “This work comes together freely without preconception and I invite you to explore with me on this visual journey.”

Liminal Journey invites viewers to explore Archdale's creative pathways through the lens of thresholds and transitions. The term “liminal” refers to the state of being suspended between two worlds. This show masterfully explores the creative potential of this in-between space, reminding us that transformation is a journey.

Using a diverse range of styles and media, Archdale sets iconic ledger figures and Indigenous symbols in abstract fields of geometric color. The juxtaposition of representational forms against the more rhythmic and faceted elements suggest a place where the known and the unknown coexist. A spirited echo of the artist's passion for graffiti also resonates inside the vibrant colors and bold expressive lines.

This energetic work inspires us to roam the areas between urban and rural, abstract and realistic, and the intersection of traditional and modern ways of expressing cultural identity, bringing us into the narrative of Archdale's wide-ranging life experience from her unique point of view.
