Limblifter bio~
Limblifter has a knack for continual reinvention, this time steeped in collaboration between Ryan Dahle (vocals/guitar) and Eric Breitenbach (drums/guitar), Megan Bradfield, (bass/vocals), and Gregory Macdonald (keyboard/vocals/guitar) - managing to circumvent the pigeonhole-prone music industry to prevail uncategorized with a hard-core fan base intact.
With Dahle’s memorable guitar lines, distinctive vocals, and poignant, colourfully painted lyrics as an anchor, the evolving vision is driven by the other members. Way out keyboard lines and impossible drum performances highlighted by double bass and clarinet played by Megan. The presence of Megan and Gregory’s voices taking lead vocal roles on occasion makes this latest record “Little Payne” sound more like a compilation than a band. Occasionally featuring American jazz saxophonist Donny McCaslin playing some incredible solos, gives a glimpse of a future full record collaboration between McCaslin and Dahle.
This new record pulled together during covid from song ideas over many years was released Hallowe'en 2022 just as Ryan Dahle was diagnosed with a heart problem that had him face open heart surgery in February and made promotion of the record impossible. Now fully recovered, the band is ready to play this record that celebrates long friendships and deep musical bonds.
