Lily Vakili
Lily Vakili is, at her core, a storyteller. A lifelong observer, chronicler, and creative force, she has spent decades gathering fragments of the world – memories, landscapes, voices, losses, joys – and transforming them into urgent, electric songs.
Vakili’s journey to music has been anything but linear – shaped by what she calls “a life lived.” Born in Honduras to a family of six, she was raised across Honduras, Florida, Thailand, Puerto Rico, and Iowa – absorbing pieces of each place, each culture, along the way. This upbringing shaped her voice, her worldview, and her lifelong search for connection.
The past decade has seen her channel that force through five studio albums – released both as a solo artist and with Vakili Band – each one experimenting with the wide, untamed possibilities of rock. Her voice and music are “compelling the way the first Patti Smith music gripped a listener, the Swans’ Jarboe enthralled or even Nico startled.” – Americana Highways
The Spyrals
The Spyrals new album, Retrograde, harkens back to their earliest sounds while stepping into the future. After over a decade of releasing music, Jeff Lewis finds the throughline to what makes The Spyrals. It’s loud, live and real. After self-recording multiple albums in practice studios and garages, the band entered Station House studio in Echo Park, Los Angeles in early 2024. Coming out of months of jamming, the band carved out a collection of songs. From blues vamps to spaced-out bliss, the psychedelic roots shine through on the group’s fifth LP.
Formed in San Francisco in 2009, the early formation of The Spyrals was known for their live performances. Playing around the Bay Area in the fertile SF scene, they gained notoriety with support from Aquarius Records Store in the Mission District and other SF staples. The 2012 self-titled record solidified the band’s reputation as purveyors of West Coast psych rock.
Friend of a Friend
Friend of a Friend formed in the summer of 2020 after a lifetime just missing each other. Since the 2022 release of their debut album "In Arms," they’ve toured relentlessly throughout Europe and North America. Their sophomore album “FACILITIES” was recorded in Joshua Tree, California with Jordan Lawlor (M83, J. Laser) and released in the spring of 2024.
FOAF has been named an artist to watch by Rolling Stone, an “American Visionary Duo” by Mesmerized, an “indie rock band taking the scene by storm" by Wonderland Magazine, a "cultural phenomenon" by Extravafrench, "sonic visionaries" by Plastic Magazine, "the next huge thing in indie rock" by Each Measure, "seamlessly intriguing" by Obscure Sound. Their third album is due for release under Earth Libraries in the spring of 2025.
