Lignumvitae Botanical Gardens State Park: 3-Island Tour and Litter Patrol
Join us for a hands-on experience at Lignumvitae Botanical Gardens State Park on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024, at 10 p.m. (EST) for this Gilligans Island Themed Event!
Event Includes:
- A guided hike on two of our islands.
- Teach responsible conservation as we visit the bird sanctuary by boat that is located across seagrass beds, as well as learning about our plants on a guided hike.
- Marine trash clean-up after our tour of our island ghost town located at Indian Key State Park.
A costume contest will be held, and the winner gets a free park pass! Whomever gets the heaviest load of flotsam and jetsam during the 30 minute marine cleanup gets a free park pass!
Precautionary: All volunteers must be able to enter and exit watercraft onto uneven/wet terrain. All volunteers must be able to walk on uneven terrain including mangrove roots and rocky coastline. All volunteers must be able to get shoes wet as well as prepare to get fully wet and be able to swim. Be prepared for mosquitos and biting flies. Be prepared for sunshine, heat and humidity. Costumes recommended.
