Join Seattle fiber artist Flóra Carlile-Kovács for an introduction to nunofelting in this day-long workshop for intermediate and experienced felters. Nunofelt is created by weaving wool fibers onto a sheer silk fabric to create a layered, textured design. In this class, you’ll learn the basics of nunofelt and troubleshoot common errors. Learn the best fibers and fabrics for this technique and receive guidance about creating clean felted lines on silk fabric. You’ll leave this class with new fiber arts knowledge and a beautiful custom-made nunofelt scarf.Flóra Carlile-Kovács has been teaching felt making on all levels since 2005 and leading Felt Tours to Hungary annually since 2016. She lives and works in Seattle, Washington.
This class is suitable for intermediate to advanced felters. Participants should be comfortable standing and bending over for long periods of time to complete this project. Please bring a packed lunch or prepare to purchase lunch out during the class. Class registration includes a materials fee that covers hand-dyed merino wool and silk fabric for each student, provided by Flóra. Registration also includes admission to the Whatcom Museum.

- Waterproof apron
- Comfortable shoes
