We warmly invite you to join us for the 17th Annual Lights of Remembrance hosted by Duke Hospice Bereavement Services. This special event will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2024, at Duke HomeCare & Hospice, located at 4321 Medical Park Drive in Durham.
The Lights of Remembrance program is a heartfelt opportunity to honor and celebrate the lives of those who have passed but remain forever in our hearts. Luminaries will be lit in their memory, symbolizing the love and light they brought into our lives. Each luminary will be accompanied by a memorial placard with a tribute written by family and friends, which you can take home as a keepsake. Keepsake programs will also be available.
From 6-7:30 p.m., you can walk along the pathway, illuminated by the luminaries, reflecting on the joyful moments shared with your loved ones. A brief memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m., which you are welcome to attend. We hope the glow of the luminaries and the warmth of your memories will remind you of the enduring bond you share with those who have passed.
To dedicate a luminary in memory of a loved one, a minimum donation of $35 is required. All proceeds will benefit our bereavement services, helping us to continue providing support to the community. Our services include individual counseling sessions, support groups, and grief programs, available to anyone in the community, regardless of whether they used our hospice services. We also offer grief support to more than 100 children and teens each year through local school outreach programs.

On Dec. 10, 2024, our grounds will be illuminated with memories, candles, and serenity. In case of a weather cancellation, you will be notified by email.
