About this Event
Kansen Nu Michi Tirashi, Lighting The Path
Come join us for an enlightening evening at the James R. Armstrong Theatre. We are celebrating 40 years since Keiko Yonamine founded her Okinawan dance group, a legacy rooted in tradition, artistry, and gratitude. Kansen nu Michi Tirashi, meaning “Lighting the Path,” honors the generations of instructors who have guided us, enabling us to share the vibrant culture of Okinawa through the beauty of dance.
This performance is a heartfelt expression of appreciation for those who came before us, shaping the art we hold dear today. It is also an opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to preserving and sharing its timeless beauty with future generations. We give special thanks to Keiko Yonamine, whose vision and dedication continue to inspire and illuminate our journeys.
