“Lighting Learning and Laughing” Join Senior Disney Wedding & Portrait Photographer Rick Ferro and internationally published photojournalist & portrait photographer Rick Friedman for the “Rick & Rick Photo Workshop”
This is a hands on posing and lighting workshop photographing models, with two photographers known for their creative, yet different styles of lighting and photography. This workshop will improve your photography whether you are photographing your family or are a seasoned professional photographer.
“The Ricks” will share their creative techniques and photographic tricks. Attendees will work with both photographers photographing models and learning different approaches to photography, lighting and posing.
The workshop starts with creating optimal light with one speed light on camera. Yes, you can make great light with a single speed light! Then adding a second speed light and progress to larger portable strobes. everyone will be working with all types of light modifiers, reflectors, diffusers, soft boxes, umbrellas and strip lights. You will learn adding color gels to make the photographs dramatic, mixing strobe and available light to overpower the harsh sun light, use light meters, remote triggers and controlling your lights with an app on your phone.
The workshop ends with light painting the models!
Day 1: October 7, 2023 11 AM - 4 PM
Morning : Photographing models in the studio, starting with making great light with flash on camera using Profoto A10. This is great for photographers covering events, weddings, news coverage and quick portraits. Then add a second Profoto speed flight or Profoto A2, a small very light weight off camera strobe, about the size of a soda can. Working with one flash on camera and one flash, off camera.
Afternoon : Photographing models outside, Using strobes to compensate for shadows, harsh direct light and bright backgrounds.
Day 2: October 8, 2023 11 AM - 4 PM:
Photographing models in the studio, shooting on multiple sets using a variety of lighting set ups and light modifiers. We will work with hard light and soft mixing strobes and available light. Workshop concludes with light painting the models.
“Rick & Rick Photo Workshops” aka “Lighting, Learning and Laughing”. Jim Reed from Profoto will be joining us. Because there are 3 of us, we will have time to answer all your photography questions and go over your gear. Lighting is equipment provided by Profoto, bring your camera and lens! These workshops are high energy, informative and fun! You will improve your photography, add to your portfolio and have a good time doing it! We will have fashions from SewTrendy.
