The Lamar University Department of Communication and Media is hosting a "Lighting and Cinematography" Workshop sponsored by the Southwest Media Alternate Program (SWAMP) on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 10:00 am at the Communication Building on campus. Admission for the workshop is $20.00 dollars for students and $40.00 dollars for the public.The instructor for the workshop is veteran cinematographer and filmmaker Julye Newlin.
During the "Mastering Advanced Cinematic Lighting" session, you will elevate your skills in our intensive hands-on workshop designed for those looking to delve deeper into the art of lighting. This hands-on experience will take you beyond the basics of a three-point lighting and into the realm of advanced lighting techniques that can transform your projects.
With the "Cinematography Mastery: Advanced Tips & Tricks" session, you will unlock the secrets to improving your cinematography in this dynamic three-hour workshop designed for intermediate filmmakers looking to elevate their craft. Whether you’re shooting narrative films, documentaries, or short projects, this session will provide you with advanced techniques to enhance your visual storytelling.
This workshop is hosted by SWAMP, a non-profit organization that encourages a diverse, multicultural community to create and appreciate film as an art form.
