So it is that time of year again, and the metastatic Breast Cancer Community needs you more than ever before. Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day is October 13th. This opportunity will run through the month of October. The latest news is disheartening. Medical research has been decimated and patients are being forced off of clinical trials as we speak because they are no longer being funded. For many, this may be the only treatment left, and they are being abandoned to die. METAvivor Research and Support Inc. donates 90% of funding directly towards research to end this terminal illness. It is one of the few ways we can make a difference for people with mBC. Most people think pink when they ponder October, but I urge you to consider donating directly to METAvivor because your dollars will be stretched further, apparel will not be pink with sexualized sayings like “save the tatas,” and the board will award grants for medical research to fund a cure for this terminal disease. I will be hosting two events: chair yoga with Leanne Applin Roadcap, and Light Up mBC at the New York State Education Building in Albany which will be lit in teal, pink, and green to build awareness for mBC. More information will be provided as we get closer to the events. You do not need to attend either event to donate, but we would welcome you with open arms if you can. Thank you in advance for your support! https://donate.metavivor.org/fundraiser/5721905
