During this cherished annual event, community members are invited to decorate luminaries as tributes in memory of loved ones who have passed on. As the sun sets, the illuminated beach transforms into a gallery of glowing memories, each light reflecting the love and legacy of those we hold dear. The evening is enriched with beautiful music and shared stories, creating a warm, supportive environment for families and friends.Please note that this event will begin at 4pm for the general public and 3:30pm for parents grieving the loss of their children.
Luminaries, art supplies, stickers, snacks, and colored tea lights will be provided. If you want to personalize your luminaries with photos, please bring them! Additionally, there is limited seating at the picnic tables, so please bring chairs or blankets to sit on while you personalize your luminary. The event is free, but we will be accepting donations toward the cost of materials for next year's event.
For first-time attendees: Please do not enter Heisler Park into your GPS—you’ll be directed to the far end of the park. Instead, use the coordinates for Myrtle and Cliff Drive. Look for the statue and our balloons. The picnic tables aren’t visible from the street, so follow the path down from Cliff Drive to find us. Metered parking is available on Cliff Drive and nearby streets. Even if you need to park a few blocks away, it’s a pleasant and short walk.
Directions:
From PCH North: Turn right on Myrtle Street. Right or Left on Cliff Drive
From PCH South: Turn left on Cliff Drive
Meet at Picnic tables at Heisler Park (look for balloons)
Ample metered parking on Cliff Drive and surrounding streets
