A fantastic evening of lo-fi indie/folk/rock:Lifter: Bristol based indie-folk seven piece Lifter are touring throughout October and November to promote their debut album 'Clasping Hands with the Moribund'.
The band proudly take musical cues from a diverse range of sources, including slowcore, folk, country, and indie rock, and deftly showcase this throughout their latest release. A handful of influences would include Picastro, Megafaun, XTC, Crazy Horse, and Bill Callahan. Their earlier material often drew comparisons to the likes of Silver Jews and Sparklehorse, all in all adding to a much scrappier and heavier sound in comparison to this more intricate and pastoral sound they’ve begun to adopt.
The band have been noted for their live shows that switch between gentle intimacy and intense bursts of noise.
Lo-Hi-Lo: are a Stroud-based 3-piece channeling their love of noisy melodic indie, weird folk and fuzzy guitars into loud-quiet slivers of lo-fi music. Contrasting the gentler side of Grizzly Bear, Redhouse Painters and Guided By Voices with the sharper overdriven tones of The Vaselines, Joy Division and Pixies.
The band have received very positive reviews from their early gigs and their debut EP 'Further'.
