Battle of the blood donors: Cats vs. Gators
Fans in Gainesville and Lexington will have a chance to show their school spirit in the annual “What Colors Do You Bleed?” blood drive challenge.
The contest pits the blood donors in Gainesville and LifeSouth Community Blood Centers against the blood donors in Lexington and Kentucky Blood Center, January 27-31. Whichever team draws the most donors earns bragging rights for the year.
Blood donors can participate at either LifeSouth donor centers in Gainesville, 1221 NW 13th St., 4039 Newberry Road, 14266 West Newberry Road and at all on-campus blood drives during the week of Jan. 27-31. The goal is to donate more blood than theKentuckyfans inLexington. Donors will receive a custom long sleeve t-shirt and a chance to win a 4-hour luxury party bus rental, driver included, courtesy of UF Mover Guys.
Anyone 17 or older (16 with parental permission), weighing a minimum of 110 pounds and in good health is eligible to donate. A photo ID is also required. Call (352) 334-1000 for more information or visit LifeSouth at www.lifesouth.org.
