About this Event

From the coastal wetlands to the beaches, this three-day camp for lifelong learners will bring the classroom into the field throughout Flagler County. Lifelong Learners will:

  • explore marshes, estuaries, rocky intertidal zone, and dunes via foot and kayak
  • learn about monitoring efforts researchers use to understand our coastal environment, and
  • share stewardship opportunities that everyone can take part in.

Meeting locations vary by day. You will be your own transportation between locations. Please refer to the agenda below.

    • Introductions, Please bring an estuarine-related item that is important to you and be prepared to share it's story with the group.
    • Learn about estuaries and marsh walk
    • Lunch, Please bring your own lunch.

Meet at Ripple Effect Ecotours

    • Paddle in Matanzas River with Ripple Effect Ecotours
    • Return to Ripple Effect and travel to GTM Research Reserve's Marineland Field Station
    • Water quality within the watershed
    • Lunch, Please bring your own lunch.
    • The Watershed Game
    • Reflection and Wrap-Up
