Lifelike presents a collection of works from four local artists who work with observational ‘en plein air’ drawing and painting techniques. These artists capture the essence of life in Bendigo, patiently observing the local culture, landmarks and landscapes, interpreting them into realistic depictions of life in this vibrant bustling city.
The exhibition will display both works in progress and finished pieces so that that the viewer can gain insights into the technical and creative process of working ‘en plein air’.
Opening celebration: Friday April 5, 5pm to 7pm.
Featured artists: Terry Jarvis, Shaun Clarke, Meg Holmes and Michael Watson.
Lifelike is a free exhibition open daily from March 30 until June 16, 2024.
The Living Arts Space is in the Bendigo Visitor Centre together with the First Nations gallery Djaa Djuwima.
Bendigo Visitor Centre is located at 51-67 Pall Mall, Bendigo and is open 9am to 5pm every day (apart from Christmas Day).

The artists are also hosting ‘Plein Air’ demonstrations in Rosalind Park over the coming months where residents and visitors are invited to join one of the free sessions. This is an opportunity to see the artists at work and for residents and visitors to embrace the joy of creativity in the open air.
