The Lifeguarding course provides participants the skills to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies in both shallow and deep water, offering professional-level care until EMS personnel arrive. The course combines online and in-person sessions, with online components to be completed before each instructor-led class. Successful participants earn an American Red Cross certificate for Lifeguarding (including deep water) with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid, valid for 2 years.
A student must be at least 15 years old on or before the last day of class and pass course specific swimming prerequisites prior to the start of training.
