Are you interested in becoming a lifeguard? We are offering Lifeguard Certification Training.Participants will need to attend all of the below days & times.
October 28, 2021 - 4 - 10 pm
October 29, 2021 - 4 - 10 pm
October 30, 2021 - 9 am - 6 pm
November 1, 2021 - 4 - 10 pm
November 2, 2021 - 4 - 8 pm
The cost is $200 per candidate. Each candidate must be at least 16 years of age. The certification includes YMCA Lifeguard, ASHI Basic Life Support, Basic First Aid and Emergency Oxygen Administration.
Candidates must complete roughly 9 hours of online pre-course work prior to
the first day of class, and be able to swim the minimum requirements as
follows:
100 yds freestyle with rhythmic, rotary breathing
50 yds freestyle approach (head out of the water)
50 yds breaststroke
50 yds breaststroke approach (head out of the water)
50 yds sidestroke
50 yds inverted breaststroke without using the arms
The class does cost less if you are employed or going through the employment process at the YMCA.
