We're back!
Come join a lively conversation while sipping some wonderful wines and sharing delicious appetizers with fellow compatriots who long to discuss life, love, literature and anything else that strikes our fancy. The salon will meet once a month on the second Monday of the month.
Each conversation session will be hosted by one of the members of the group whose job will be to stimulate and manage the discussion. Participants will be encouraged to share in the conversation, and expand their creativity through listening, speaking and sometimes writing.
Last October, we thank Louise for celebrating John Lennon's birthday and reminding us of all he contributed to our culture. We had fun reminiscing about his life and legacy This November when we meet bring a picture of you from forty years ago, twenty years ago, and now. Let's discuss who we were, are, and will be.
"Our distant relatives gathered around the fire. Since then, most cultures have had some form of social form like the salon. It's just basic to being human - people need to get together and talk over the things they care about and believe in." Salons: the Joy of Conversation by Jaida Sandra, Jon Spayde and the Editors of the Utne Reader
Appetizers are available and wines range from $4.50-$18. The objective of the salon is to encourage creativity, involvement, and participation in Austin's lively and energetic art and culture, and stimulate our own creativity.
