About this Event
A practical, in person workshop with experienced adopters and family therapist to share and discuss how to have important conversations with your adopted children and young people, relating to their adoption, life journey and personal story. The aim of the workshop is to equip parents to feel more confident about opening up conversations, answering questions in an age-appropriate way and considering different approaches to life journey work.
There will be a survey circulated before the training date so that participants can be matched into groups with people having similar age children and to gather information about particular issues that are of concern to course participants.
This workshop is primarily for adoptive parents, foster and kinship carers . Prospective adopters would find the introductory Talking about Adoption in Families more suitable.
Scottish Borders, Clackmannanshire, Dundee City, East Lothian, Glasgow City, Midlothian, South Lanarkshire and West Dunbartonshire Councils may fund places on this training. Please email [email protected] for further information.
