Florida Audubon Society’s Katie Gill Warner, Director of the Center for Birds of Prey in Maitland leads April 17 Life Explorers Program.
The Florida Audubon Society is celebrating 125 years of conservation in Florida in 2025. Katie Gill Warner, who oversees all programs and operations for the Audubon Center for Birds of Prey in Maitland, will speak on Celebrating Raptor Conservation in Florida at Mead Garden’s Life Explorers Series on April 17. She will share highlights on the creation of the Audubon Society and the development of the Audubon Center for Birds of Prey. She will share the latest news on raptor conservation efforts in Florida and the impact of community engagement and participation. Learn about raptor migration patterns and the impact the Center is having on understanding and preserving these magnificent birds in our local area. She will be joined by a Raptor Ambassador from the Center.
Warner received her BS degree in biology from the University of Alabama with a focus on Environmental Science. She began her career with Audubon in 2001 focusing on habitat and conservation issues.
The Life Explorers Speakers Series is held in the Azalea Lodge of Mead Botanical Garden from 10-11:30 a.m. The program is free of charge with light refreshments and coffee served.
