“The best life drawing class I’ve found in years”A chance to indulge in practising some essential drawing skills in a beautiful environment, guided by someone with over 25 years of teaching experience.
Wednesday mornings: 9:30 - 11:30 am (this class also runs on Tuesday evenings, 7-9pm)

You’ll use a diverse range of styles and techniques that stretch you and keep you motivated to improve. All while enjoying some fresh coffee and meeting some other lovely local artists. You can work at your own pace and be left alone to draw if this is how you prefer to learn.
Terms cost £105 for 6 week term (2 hour session) or £20 cash drop-in option for our Life Drawing classes. All materials and coffee/tea are provided.
Life drawing is challenging and rewarding, but like anything else, it takes practice and patience. The best way to encourage practice is to vary the media and techniques available; to make sure this is feasible, we provide materials for free. This also allows more confidence as using expensive personal materials tends to inhibit experimentation. You are, of course, welcome to bring your own materials and follow your own path.
Week 3 and 6 are a chance to work from one long pose with any material/technique you choose; the other weeks begin with warm-ups to help you prepare, normally followed by one or two poses following a theme. Sometimes the session is devoted to a worksheet-style drawing, using many poses on one sheet in different materials. These are a great opportunity to gain confidence in composition, materials and mark-making.
