About this Event
We welcome you to join our life-drawing class with themes surrounding Egypt and honouring the sacred culture through belly dance, costume and food.
(Please note the life-model is in costume)
All welcome, all abilities welcome from complete beginners to more seasoned artists, this is a relaxed and welcoming class, tutoring provided if needed although we encourage the process over the outcome.
(please arrive a little early so you have time to get comfortable)
What is provided:
*Drawing boards
*Easels
*Basic drawing materials (A variety of papers, pencils & charcoal)
*Chairs and some tables
*A Mini Library of books to look through for inspiration
*A warm vegan/vegetarian meal will be provided during the break surrounding Egyptian culture with various treats and a variety of beverages suited for all dietry requirements.
We encourage you bring whatever drawing materials you feel comfortable with.
What to expect:
First half
*2:00 - 2:45*
Inpromtu short movement poses followed by
A warm up with a series of four 5 minute poses,
Going into a 10 minute pose then a 15 minute pose.
Break
*2:45 - 3:15*
Refreshments with an opportunity to come together to share drawings (no pressure) we encourage you use this time in whatever way you feel is best.
Second half
*3:15 - 3:30*
In collaboration, we will be sharing with you words and wisdoms surrounding these themes
*3:30 - 4:00*
Followed by one long 30 minute pose.

About Kali:
Kali is an Illustration graduate from Duncan Of Jordanstone who is a self-employed community arts facilitator since 2017, curating creative spaces around Dundee and surrounding with her main focus in life-drawing and print-making.
About Emma:
Emma has studied and danced Egyptian bellydance for a number of years.
But the time spent studying is not comparison to the heart felt passion that is always felt and expressed through this dance. As if belonging to this culture once long ago in a past life...
