Michael Spake, Anderson native and author, will give a reading and commentary from his debut novel Life Close to the Bone. Set in the fictional mill town of Shoals, SC — loosely inspired by Anderson – the story explores memory, heritage, and personal transformation through the lens of a family’s past. Drawing from his background as a junior tennis player in South Carolina and his career as a healthcare attorney, Spake weaves a story that connects personal history with broader themes of identity and change.Signed copies of Life Close to the Bone will be available for purchase, and attendees are welcome to bring their own copies for signing.
