When loss disrupts your life, how do you cope with the short and long-term effects of grief?
About this Event

In a world where we are facing both personal and global loss, grief is a pervasive—often heavy—experience for all. In her book, Grief Is a Sneaky Bitch, social worker and widow Lisa Keefauver dives deep into grief's impact on our lives and how we can effectively, compassionately lighten its load.

Together in conversation with grief guide and author of Your Grief, Your Way, Shelby Forsythia, Lisa will discuss:

  • Why the Five Stages of Grief are irrelevant (and how to measure progress in grief instead)
  • The heart/mind/body connection—AKA why grief isn't "all in your head"
  • What to say and do when people say cliché, insensitive things about your loss
  • How to use tools like improv, curiosity, and humor to move through grief's hardest emotions
The event will take place downstairs at the MiniBar from 6:00 until 7:00 pm.
