Library Shelfie Day 2026 will be celebrated on the fourth Wednesday of January, which will be January 28, 2026. It's an annual, international celebration of books and libraries, where book lovers and institutions share photos of their favorite shelves or books on social media using hashtags like #LibraryShelfieDay. Initiated by the New York Public Library in 2014, the day encourages people to express their reading preferences, get creative with book displays, and highlight the enduring relevance of physical books.
We will have photo props in both the Adult and Youth departments for participation. Don't forget to tag us on social medias or email us a picture if you're willing to have it posted! This program is open for all ages, no registration is required, and it is free.
