About this Event
Luminary: a person who or influences others, especially one prominent in a particular sphere.
We’re excited to share with you that Generation Justice is hosting our Liberation Luminaries Series. We are bringing luminaries - visionaries of our time - to engage with our beloved community to discuss the moment we are in and how we prepare collectively for the future.
The first Luminary that we will spotlight is author adrienne maree brown. adrienne maree brown grows healing ideas in public through her multi-genre writing, her collaborations and her podcasts. Informed by 25 years of movement facilitation, somatics, Octavia E Butler scholarship and her work as a doula, adrienne has nurtured Emergent Strategy, Pleasure Activism, Radical Imagination and Transformative Justice as ideas and practices for transformation. She is the author/editor of several published texts, cogenerator of a tarot deck and a developing musical ritual. adrienne's forthcoming book Loving Corrections will be released on August 20 from AK Press.
We are so happy to invite you to join us for amazing discussion on Thursday, July 11th at the Albuquerque Main Library from 1:30 - 3 pm. adrienne will be on virtually and we will have time for discussion and questions from the live audience to her.
We are really trying hard to be COVID-safe for this gathering. We know that the pandemic and the spread of COVID is not over so we will ask folks in attendance to be mindful of our mitigating practices and consider being masked to protect those most vulnerable.
