About this Event
Baltimore-based saxophonist and composer Liam Hurlbut presents an original song cycle on the theme of “Romance and the Blues” featuring his Chamber Jazz Quartet. These songs tell the story of an ill-fated romance from its conception to its dissolution and the healing process thereafter. The group is composed of world-class instrumentalists featuring saxophonist Amanda Gardier, pianist Savino Palumbo, and bassist Derek Wiegmann. Specially curated for this intimate performance space, this group will explore the open rhythmic and fluid textural possibilities of a jazz ensemble without a drummer.
