About this Event

Are you looking to connect on a deeper level with yourself and others?

Many of the traditional spaces where LGBTQ people meet are centered around superficial connections. While these environments aren’t inherently negative, they don’t typically foster getting to know people on a deeper, more soulful level.

This mindfulness group is an antidote for those of us looking for something beyond, where we can be our authentic selves without judgment and form lasting connections. Our purpose is to create a community of like-minded individuals to explore mindfulness, learn more about ourselves, and grow as human beings. This is a safe space to share yourself within a community of open-minded individuals with live meditation and prompt exercises for inner growth.

Who should join this group?

Any member of the LGBTQ community looking for a safe space to be vulnerable with their emotions, learn more about mindfulness techniques and spirituality, and meet people with similar values and goals.

What will we do at the events?

We will start with a group exercise to get comfortable and express ourselves. Then, we will introduce a topic for authentic sharing, discussion, and reflection. Finally, we will end the session with an integrative group meditation.

What should you bring?

A Yoga mat or blanket to sit on during meditation.

A journal and something to write with.

Love, Vulnerability, and Authenticity.

Bring yourself, a partner, or a friend.

Alexandra Castro is a passionate mindfulness coach who values authentic connection, personal growth, and open and safe communication. She believes that we are on this earth to come soul-to-soul and help each other become the most authentic version of ourselves. In addition, she is a firm believer that the quality of our life depends on the quality of our relationships – and most importantly, the ones we have with ourselves.

In her early twenties, Alexandra was haunted by a feeling of emptiness, a void she knew she needed to fill. She was living in fear, not being truthful to herself about her sexuality, and abandoning her authentic self. Then, after falling in love with a mindful woman who opened the doors to the world of spirituality, the healing started. She began to peel back the layers of conditioning from society, religion, and her family and reunite with the soul of who she truly is. The void was finally filling.

Her healing journey taught her new ways of thinking and being in the world. She acknowledges that personal growth is a daily practice and emphasizes the importance of progress, not perfection. Through spirituality and mindful practice, Alexandra feels a deeper connection with humanity, the earth, and a desire to connect with her community.

Alexandra now leads a mindfulness group and offers one-on-one coaching sessions for queer people in San Francisco to teach what she’s learned. She serves the queer community who have been generally underrepresented in the mindfulness space, offering a safe space to heal and connect.
